Meet the ASGBC
We are the Associated Student Government of Bellevue College (ASGBC). Our mission is to represent the interests and needs of the student body through programs, initiatives, services, advocacy, and events that enrich the lives of all Bellevue College Students. We strive to create a campus community where all students are heard, valued, and respected. We encourage you to get involved, and make your own voice heard!
Components of the ASGBC
There are four main components of government that make up the ASGBC. The ASGBC encourages students to engage with and participate in any of these components!
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the executive branch of the ASGBC. The Board of Directors is composed of nine officers; the ASGBC President and Vice President are elected and the other seven are selected through an appointment process.

The Board of Directors are responsible for the management and control of the ASGBC. The Board of Directors are responsible for overseeing all operations of the ASGBC, including but not limited to: the participation in legislative affairs within the administrative community, the enactment of measures for the general welfare of the students, the participation in policy-recommending bodies, the management of student funds for student organizations, and overseeing the distribution of voluntary and mandatory student fees.
Student Senate
The Student Senate is the legislative branch of the ASGBC. The Senate is made up of 14 Student Senators representing specific groups on campus such as athletes, housing residents, social science students, international students, and more!

The Senate is responsible for determining the official student opinion on issues affecting the student body; promoting and developing individual student leadership; drafting, deliberating, and approving legislation; exercising the authorities granted by the ASGBC Constitution, and ASGBC Bylaws, and for providing a forum for discussion among students, in order to better the experiences of students at Bellevue College.
Offices of the ASGBC
The Offices of the ASGBC are overseen by the Board of Directors and exist to support the essential functions and established services of the ASGBC.
Office of Civic Engagement
The ASGBC Office of Civic Engagement (OCE) is a student-led, student centered non-partisan organization that aims to advocate for the interests and concerns of students both internally within the college and externally in the broader legislative arena. We represent students on the local, state, and federal level dealing with student organizing, tabling, phone banking, rallying, lobbying, and networking.
Office of Events and Community Relations
The ASGBC Office of Events and Community Relations (OECR) is responsible for coordinating the programming and communication efforts of the ASGBC. The OECR coordinates event planning on behalf of all branches of the ASGBC and oversees the digital media and public relations efforts of the association. The ASGBC OECR collaborates with many other branches of the ASGBC including the Student Senate and the Office of Civic Engagement, as well as non-ASGBC groups such as the Campus Activities Board, ASGBC Student Organizations, and more.
Committees of the ASGBC
Committees of the ASGBC serve as dedicated bodies to oversee items such as mandatory and voluntary student fees, the election and judicial procedures of the ASGBC, and more!
